18 Quotes that I had stored on my iPhone but somehow managed to forget about.

If you’re anything like me, then you have a frequent tendency to store any quotes that you come across which have a profound effect on you, but often fall into the trap of never referring to them again.

Welcome to my world. I realised this was a problem because my iPhone was crippling under the weight of all the screen shots I had taken whilst scrolling through tumblr.

Here’s a list of random but incredibly meaningful quotes that somehow seem to have got lost in depths of my iPhone.

“I’m not interested in competing with anyone. I hope we all make it” – Erica Cook

“Nothing is wrong if it makes you happy.” – Bob Marley

“Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already.” – Dave Willis

“Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness.” – Lao Tzu

“We’re all sinking in the same boat here. We’re all bored and desperate and waiting for something to happen. Waiting for life to get better. Waiting for things to change. Waiting for that one person to finally notice us. We’re all waiting. But we also need to realise that we all have the power to make those changes for ourselves.” – Susane Colasanti

“When a person tells you you hurt them, you don’t get to decide you didn’t.” – Louis C.K

“Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your resume, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.” – Unknown

“If you end up with a boring, miserable life because you listened to your mum, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your shit, then you deserve it.” – Frank Zappa

“I’m tired of trying to fill up my empty spaces with things I don’t need and people I don’t like.” – Beau Taplin

“I think it’s important to realise you can miss something, but not want it back.” – Stephanie C

“There’s no boy cute enough or interesting enough to stop you from getting your education.” – Michelle Obama

“It’s not my responsibility to be beautiful. I’m not alive for that purpose. My existence is not about how desirable you find me.” – Warsan Shire

“Stop blaming yourself for other people’s shitty doings to you. They fucked up. Not you.” – Sade Harrison

“You’ve got to show the world who you are before it tells you. Otherwise you become victim to someone you’re not.” – Chris Colfer

“Document the moments you feel most in love with yourself – what you’re wearing, who you’re around, what you’re doing. Recreate and repeat.” – Warsan Shire

“Never continue in a job you don’t enjoy. If you’re happy in what you’re doing, you’ll like yourself, you’ll have inner peace. And if you have that, along with physical health, you’ll have more success than you could possibly have imagined.” – Roger Caras

“And you must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.” – Ratatouille

“Everything you can imagine is real.” – Pablo Picasso
