Taking Time Out and A Trip To Wroxton Abbey.

So, it’s been a while hasn’t it? How have you all been?

I have probably got a little bit of explaining to do regarding my absence really. Where do I even start? A few weeks ago, I began to feel really uninspired, a bit deflated and just all round bleh. I like to call it one of  my “if you’re looking for me I’ll be in the trash” moods.

Lack of belief in myself is something that I often find myself struggling with and it is completely in my nature to be self-deprecating. If you’re anything like me, you will completely understand how that feels.

I had managed to get myself to a point where I just needed to take some time out to re-focus and re-centre myself, and I’m pretty please to say that it has worked.

Taking time out to get yourself back on the right track is something that I would definitely recommend doing regularly. It is so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of everyday life that we often forget to give ourselves the attention we deserve.

As a writer, I am so hard on myself if I go through a period of time where I haven’t written anything of substance. Or in some cases, periods where I haven’t written anything at all. So as a note to all writers, you’re not a factory. You will write when you are goddamn ready and not a moment sooner. It’s not about churning out loads of work. Take your time and be kind to yourself.

I thought I’d use this post to share with you some pictures that I took whilst walking around Wroxton Abbey in a bid to clear my head. I made a decision to lock my phone in the glove compartment of the car and explore with nothing but the clothes on my back and my trusty little camera, and I am so glad that I did.
