6 Things I Can’t Stop Raving About.

How’s it going peeps? Happy International Women’s Day!

This post was meant to be up a while ago  but after accidently deleting it, I decided to crawl into the foetal position and cry myself to sleep instead.

I know that 6 doesn’t seem like a lot of things to be raving about but I am just glad I haven’t uploaded an article entitled “6 Things I Can’t Stop Raging About” considering the mood I was in after deleting my work yesterday. Woe is me.

Anyway, enough of being unnecessarily dramatic, I have been loving a load of stuff recently and sharing is caring so let’s get to it.

The OA

Oh. My. Friggin. Who-haa. As if I was naïve enough to think that there would never be another series that would excite me as much as Stranger Things did. I know that you can’t compare the two but I have to say, The OA excited me more.

This is 100% the perfect series to binge watch (I watched the series twice through in the space of a week after begging my family to watch it. Needless to say, they loved it too.)

How can I explain it without giving too much away? The story is based around the character Prairie Johnson who returns after having disappeared for 7 years. Not only that, people are shocked to find out that Prairie is no longer blind and the story goes on from there. I don’t want to say too much at all because the journey that this series takes you on is just incredible.

Not only is it produced by Brad Pitt, It made me fall ridiculously in love with Brit Marling. She is such a talented lady. She created, executive produced and also starred as the lead in this show and she does it all with absolute ease it seems.

Netflix are yet to announce a second series but they bloody well need to.

My Dad Wrote A Porno

I have known about this podcast for ages now but have selfishly kept it to myself. Having said that, it is really popular so you may have already heard of it or stumbled across the book itself in your local bookstore.

Yes, it is as hilarious as it sounds and if you ever noticed anyone in public pissing themselves laughing with their earphones in, they are probably listening to this podcast.

“Imagine if your Dad wrote a dirty book. Most people would try to ignore it and pretend it never happened – but not Jamie Morton. Instead, he’s decided to read it to the world in this brand new comedy podcast. With the help of his friends, James Cooper and BBC Radio 1’s Alice Levine, Jamie will be reading a chapter a week and discovering more about his father than he ever bargained for.”

To be honest, all you really need to know is that his Dad sets the “story” in the pots and pans industry and that you’ll never look at pomegranates in the same way again.

JK Rowling’s Twitter Account

She is just an absolute boss and deals with some of the twatty criticism that gets thrown her way with such wit and grace. Love her.

Cleanse and Polish, Liz Earle

I honestly don’t know what to say about this cleanser that hasn’t been said already apart from the fact that personally, it has completely transformed my skin.

It is designed to be used with a pure muslin cloth that helps to lift any impurities and works like a dream. Not only does it leave your skin feeling really smooth, it is so creamy as well which is largely due to the cocoa butter used. Believe the hype.

Je Viens De La, Two Door Cinema Club

Their latest album Gameshow is an all round banger to be honest but this song in particular I love. The album is not ridiculously new but nevertheless, I have been on it like a car bonnet for the past two weeks now. If you are a Two Door Cinema Club fan, I cant imagine that you would be disappointed.

Violet Water, The House of Intuition

I have sung the praises of this little gem on the blog before and I still love it just as much. Violet water is used by some to cleanse unwanted energy but it can be used in so many other ways too. You can place a few drops in your bath or even simply as a perfume. The scent is as pretty as you would imagine.

The House of Intuition as a brand are brilliant and definitely worth checking out. Sign up to their emails as well if you can because they are really useful and touch upon topics such as self doubt, simplifying your life and just wellbeing as a whole.

Let me know what  you guys are currently loving!

  1. Henna – The OA literally KNOCKED my socks, trousers and underpants off. It’s the best show I’ve seen in years and I’m so glad you loved it, too!! I want to be the OA! Also – when I cottoned on to the fact that the actress playing the teacher, Betty, was also the voice of Sadness in Pixar’s Inside Out I near enough flooded my basement.

Season 2 has had a teaser trailer released and I think it’ll be due in late-Autumn. YUSSSS!

    1. No way! Joe seriously. If we don’t meet up and have a “The OA” watching sesh when the new series comes out then more fool us. Haha we need to look out for auditions I reckon we’d kill it on that show. She was in the American version of The Office as well and it was amazing to see her in a more serious role. I loved her. I loved every single one of those characters. It was so refreshing to see characters represented from such relatable backgrounds as well. I have to agree with you. Best thing I’ve seen since I can remember x
