“I’m beginning to recognise that real happiness isn’t something large and looming on the horizon ahead but something small, numerous and already here. The smile of someone you love. A decent breakfast. The warm sunset. Your little everyday joys all lined up in a row.” – Beau Taplin
Yesterday was a day of forgetting about what may come and focusing on the here and now, and I was so much happier for it.
I spent my time enjoying little things and personally, I feel as though I don’t give them enough credit. As people, we are made up of what we love. The galleries we visit. Our favourite flowers. The people we love. Our favourite books. Whatever makes us laugh etc. So when you think about it, in order to be happy, we should make more time for the little things that bring us joy, and that’s what I did. I pottered around the town in which I live and visited a little gallery that had just opened.. I bought myself flowers. I took my time doing what ever I wanted. No rush. Just focusing on that particular moment. I have to say, it was a pretty lush day.
I want to stop putting off visiting the places that bring me joy and saying things to myself like “Oh, I’ll leave buying those flowers because they are just a waste of money.” No! buy yourself the damn flowers if they make you happy. Life’s too short man.
Here are a few of the snaps that I took ❤
Thanks for reading.
