I friggin’ love The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And I’m talking love. I watched it as a kid religiously and I still watch it now (thank you Netflix)
It’s not often that a show that made you laugh as a kid has the same effect on you when you’re older, is it? Somehow, The Fresh Prince manages it.
Shows such as The Fresh Prince, Keenan and Kel, and Sister Sister in particular, played a big role in helping me feel more confident in my own skin as a child. The 90’s was the time for unapologetically being who you are, no matter what your skin colour. On TV especially. It was great.
Anyway, now that I am re-watching the show at the age I am now, the style is something that I am developing a slight obsession with. Hence the sudden colour injection in my wardrobe.
I have always been into a bright printed trouser with a good pair of trainers but recently, it’s gone to a whole other level. Also, I have downloaded “DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince: Greatest Hits” and I am not even the slightest bit sorry.
Inspired by today’s post, here are 3 small ways that you can begin to embrace your inner Fresh Prince.
