If I had to sum up my style in one word it would be “Sunday”. I like to take the essence of Sunday and apply it to all day, everyday. I adore anything that is comfortable, practical and non-restricting. I have to say that the older I get, the more I realise that the end result doesn’t necessarily have to mean a boring outfit.

If I’m being honest though, there is specific reason why I dress the way I do. I speak about my OCD and anxiety regularly on my blog because it is such a big part of my life. What I haven’t discussed however, is how it affects my personal style.

Having read that sentence, you wouldn’t be wrong if you perhaps initially thought that I meant that in a negative way. If anything (and as odd as it sounds to say) it is one of the best if not the only decent thing to come out of me struggling with my mental health.

When I am having a particularly bad day, I find it almost impossible to wear shoes that slow me down, anything that is too heavy, jewellery (even the dainty stuff) and anything that I can’t comfortably sit down crossed legged in.

It seems that overtime, I have become accustomed to dressing this way more regularly. I love nothing more than to wear black leggings, and oversized jumper and a good pair of kicks. Also, I really love oversized, baggy stuff. If Gok Wan found out he’d probably give me a right rollicking and then stick about 16 chunky bangles on me but It’s just chilled out isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, what I really love about my style is that it can be smartened up or dress down but it still feels like “me”. Anything that stops me from living in the moment and having a good time is a “no no”.

I feel swag in what I wear and that’s the aim isn’t it? to feel comfortable and confident. In the words of Kanye “I dress to impress myself” and that’s my style ethos.

I thought that I would put together a few outfits that I love and would wear in order to introduce you to my personal style.
