Styling Up My £5 Bar Cart.

untitled 5

It’s a rainy ass day in Oxfordshire today and although I did embrace it in order to run a few errands this morning, all I wanted was to get home to my cat Flo, a cup of tea and my laptop.

I also friggin’ went out with my white Vans on which was a school boy error because I ended up coming back looking like I’d kicked a pig up the arse (please don’t ever do that it’s horrible and really mean)

Someone needs to tell my poor soul that it ain’t summer up in here no more so white trainers should get shoved to the back of the wardrobe. Anyway, I’m digressing.

I’ve really loved this summer. One of the things that I’ve loved in particular is waking up on a crisp Sunday morning and heading down to a good old fashioned car boot sale. I used to really be into thrifting in my early twenties and most of my wardrobe was either vintage or thrifted in some way or another.

Recently, I decided that I was going to make the most of my Sunday so the fam and I took a trip down to our local car boot sale.

The moment that I came across this bar cart, I was bloody well chuffed that I did. I really wanted to do a nifty post on how I’m currently styling it because it has quite quickly become one of my favourite pieces in my space.

At the minute, I don’t have the space for it to be a fully functioning bar cart so I’m using it as somewhere to keep my favourite products and a few other little bits.

I picked up the vase with the gold brush strokes on for £3 in Homesense. I just thought that it would look lovely no matter what room it’s in and I can’t imagine getting bored of it anytime soon.

I keep my makeup brushes in an empty candle jar and decided to keep those on the cart too. Along with that, there’s my little Eiffel Tower ornament (which I also thrifted) next to a couple of my favourite pairs of earrings.

If you’re wondering what the little bottles are, they’re essential  oils that I use for my air diffuser as well as some notecards that I couldn’t find a home for elsewhere.

The bottom shelf features a few of my favourite cleansers and books. In front of those, I keep a gold trinket box (also from Homesense) with my watch and favourite bangle in.

There are also some products that I use quite frequently which I like to keep to hand so that I don’t have to go rummaging for them every time I need them. Those include a Gucci nail polish in Sunburst, a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Coachella Coral and a Neil’s Yard hand cream.

Thank you so much for checking out the post guys. I actually ended up buying quite a few bargain homeware pieces so let me know if you’d like to see those.

  1. I wish I could take that cart and everything on it and put it in my room! Serious bar cart envy right now 🙂 And the vase from Homesense is a steal – can’t go wrong with that place, so many great things to find in there! Lovely post & blog.
